At the start April and Stress Awareness Month, it’s important to recognise the difference between ‘good’ and ‘bad’ stress and how ‘bad’ stress can have a significant detrimental impact on physical and mental health.
All our employees have annual mental health and well-being awareness training, we have trained ‘Wellbeing Mentors’ for each team across our company and our Director, Emma Taylor is a qualified Mental Health First Aider passionate about raising awareness of mental health and wellbeing and breaking down any barriers surrounding the topic within the workplace and the construction industry generally.
Over the next 4 weeks, we will be further educating our employees on recognising stress, what can be put in place to help combat the negative effects of bad stress and how we all have a duty of care to ourselves and those around us who may be struggling.
Stress can affect our emotions, our body and how we behave in lots of different ways. Mind has put together a list, which highlights the signs and symptoms of stress, a number of which we have highlighted below along with their own tips on managing stress and building resilience.
