Michael Dyson Associates Ltd was appointed direct via Fusion21 to provide Architectural and PAS2035 Retrofit Assessor, Co-ordination and Design services to 5 blocks of one bedroom flats at Bell Farm in Heworth for City of York Council.
The existing properties are generally run down and dated having received very little upgrade works over recent years as well as rear extensions that contain significant amounts of asbestos.
The main focus of the project is to refurbish the properties to meet current design standards with an aim to target as close to zero carbon as possible.
The proposals will include internal re-modelling, demolition of the rear extensions including the safe extraction of asbestos, replace with new-build extensions, external wall insulation, new heating and ventilation systems, acoustic and fire protection measures and re-roofing to include the introduction of photovoltaics.
