Michael Dyson Associates Ltd has been appointed by Believe Housing (formerly County Durham Housing Group) to provide pre and post contract Employers Agent services and Clerk of Work services in connection with a new development in Newton Aycliffe. The appointment comes after the successful delivery of two schemes for Believe Housing in Pity Me and Rookhope.
The developer Keepmoat Homes has completed its agreements with Homes England to buy the site and has this month started initial ground works.
The Eldon Whins development is situated on the edge of Newton Aycliffe and delivered through Homes England’s accelerated construction programme.
The first phase of site, which was granted planning approval in October last year, will see the creation of 154 new two-, three- and four-bedroom homes for both private sale and “affordable” housing.
The overall 256 dwelling scheme is expected to be fully developed by the end of 2022.
Eldon Whins includes 20 family homes being provided for “affordable” rent through Believe Housing, along with a further six homes for discounted market sale.
