Luton Borough Council is embarking on a multimillion pound project to externally insulate and refurbish eight of its high rise tower blocks following a pilot project which is due for completion in the coming months. Michael Dyson Associates Ltd are delighted to have been appointed by Luton Borough Council to provide Employers Agent, Project Management and Quantity Surveying services on this project in addition to our Technical Advisor, Principal Designer and Clerk of Works roles, which we also provided on the pilot scheme.
The project has been split in to three lots with two contactors appointed to deliver the works as part of a programme that is set to be completed in September 2023.
The works generally consist of concrete and brickwork repairs, external wall Insulation and rainscreen cladding, repairs and recladding to balcony balustrades, balcony and windows pigeon deterrent, solar PV/battery storage, heat recovery ventilation systems, LED lighting and communal window replacements
Luton Borough Council have secured European Regional Development Funding for the project via the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.
We look forward to further developing our long standing relationship with Luton Borough Council and seeing the project through to completion.
