Michael Dyson Associates Ltd was appointed by North Lanarkshire Council to provide full Project Management services for a sprinkler installation scheme comprised of the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of a category 3, pump and tank fed sprinkler system.
The scheme also included the installation of alarms to cover all domestic properties and communal areas in line with BS9251, BS5839-1 and BS5839-6.
This was the first sprinkler installations North Lanarkshire Council had undertaken and was regarded as their pilot for their future installations to their high-rise stock. The installations at Birkshaw Tower gave them the opportunity to trial the sprinkler installation, understand their Employer’s Requirements and be able to apply any lessons learned to the wider retrofit.
